In case you’re trying to figure out why Cox’s Internet is down or not working, you might find comfort in the fact that you’re not the only one facing an issue with the service.
A quick look at the microblogging site – Twitter – indicates that many others are affected by the same problem.
According to user reports, they have not been able to access the internet properly as the speed has drastically decreased or the internet is not working at all.
For a quick look, here’s how some of the complainants define the issue:
Well my internet has been slow and laggy all day and it has been working terribly lol and it’s been over 12 hours and Cox said they are still working on it (Source)

Down detector — a popular service that provides real-time outage information — also conveys that Cox Internet is actually experiencing a glitch in regions like Phoenix and Tucson, as can be seen in the image below:
Any official word on this? Fortunately, Cox’s customer support on Twitter has responded to several reports of the issue stating that they are aware of it and are working on a fix.
As it turns out, the outage is due to a pole catching fire in the Phoenix area according to company media.
I’m sorry to hear that your service has been impacted. Sounds like you’re in the Phoenix area. We are aware of the issues and are waiting for SRP to repair a fire damaged pole that impacted multiple suppliers. Once we are cleared to work, we will do everything we can to restore service as soon as possible (Source)

14:04 (IST): Cox is down again according to multiple reports and Down Detector. While the new reports have subsided significantly, there are still a few streams that indicate the problem hasn’t yet been resolved.
Update 2 (April 12, 2022)
1:25 pm (IST): It seems that many users are facing internet cox issue in some area. Reports on Downdetector and Fing indicate that the outage has been going on for nearly half an hour at the time of this update.
There is currently no official news on the outage.

16:23 (IST): Downdetector now suggests that Cox’s recent internet outage is apparently fixed.
Update 4 (April 19, 2022)
14:11 (IST): New reports on Downdetector indicate that Cox’s Internet subscribers are once again facing problems with the Internet provider. The company’s support team has not yet acknowledged any outages at this time.
Update 5 (April 22, 2022)
16:09 (IST): While the service was restored on April 19 itself, new reports on Downdetector suggest that users are once again facing problems.

2.30pm (IST): New user reports on Downdetector e Chirping they suggest that Cox’s internet is down again or not working for many.

1:46 pm (IST): Cox’s Internet subscribers, mainly in Arizona, are reportedly facing problems with the service.
@CoxComm At least the third outage in a week. 13+ hours on Thursdays, 2 outages (unless never canceled) in the last 12 hours. How is this considered acceptable nowadays? (Source)
