It appears that internet provider Mediacom is currently experiencing some sort of outage. In particular, Mediacom Internet users are turning to social media platforms to share the service which is currently not working.

Here are some reports:

Also, there are reports of Mediacom cable outages. A quick look at the Down Detector Outage map reveals that the service is experiencing problems in different parts of the US.

For its part, the company has issued a notice stating that it is working on the outages.

In the meantime, here’s a helpful answer posted on Mediacom’s customer support website:

Update 1 (October 29, 2021)

11:19 (IST): Mediacom services are reportedly experiencing issues due to a reported outage in progress. Downdetector also shows an increase in outage ratios.

Update 2 (April 15, 2022)

10:56 (IST): New user reports on Downdetector suggest that Mediacom is currently down or not working for many users. Unfortunately, support has not yet acknowledged this outage.

Update 3 (April 16, 2022)

17:37 (IST): A report on Downdetector suggests that the recent outage with Mediacom has been resolved.

Update 4 (April 18, 2022)

11:04 (IST): Many users have turned to Downdetector to report that Mediacom is currently down again or not working for them.

Update 5 (April 20, 2022)

10:55 (IST): There seems to have been a sudden spike in the number of reports on Downdetector from users who seem to be having problems with Mediacom’s internet services.

There is still no official acknowledgment regarding the outage. However, it is likely that it will be fixed sooner rather than later.

Update 6 (June 3, 2022)

11:38 (IST): New user reports on Chirping and Dowdetector suggest that Mediacom is currently down or not working for many.

18:56 (IST): It appears that the recent outage with Mediacom has now been resolved as we have not seen any new user reports on Downdetector.

Update 7 (July 6, 2022)

11:00 (IST): Multiple User Reports (1, 2, 3, 4) now suggest that Mediacom is currently down or not working for many. Furthermore, reports on Downdetector also suggest the same.

And while Mediacom Support previously said the outage was fixed, they have confirmed in the recent acknowledgment that the problem has reoccurred. Also, they are working to restore service.

18:38 (IST): Mediacom support on Twitter has now confirmed that the recent outage has been resolved.

09:39 (IST): According to reports on Downdetector, the recent outage with Mediacom has now been resolved.

15:00 (IST): Since the reports of the internet outage have long since stopped surfacing, it seems that Mediacom internet is available again.

08:30 (IST): The Downdetector reports indicate that the Mediacom Internet service is experiencing problems.

17:10 (IST): The lack of recent reports indicates that the problem has been resolved.
